An employer offers me a higher package than my current but wage per hour comes out to be same. How do I convey this to empoloyer?
Your hourly wage is your yearly wage divided by 2080. I’m no mathematician, but I’m pretty confident dividing a larger number by the same number will result in a larger answer.
He’s either trying to take into account commute or the need to work more hours in the new job.
You are making it too confusing. Just ask for more in negotiation in order to join. Don’t justify or calculate. You can say it’s barely more than current role and would not be sufficient to switch. Although the best approach is get multiple offers and use your market value
Do you understand what is full time job? It's not hourly basis...sometimes you work 30 hours and sometimes 60 hours per week But your pay is fixed per week
No. A full time job is 40 hours a week. What you are describing is exempt vs. non-exempt.
So you are currently working part-time and the offer is full-time?
No i am full time and offered also full time.
Sounds like you care less about bonus and equity than base pay. Then just tell them so
Package is overall. Not sure if I understand this correctly but based on what I understand, you want to lower your overall package and want more base?
Yes I want increase in my overall package stating that wages per hour comes out to be same ie. X pkg of current == Y pkg offered (though overall pkg y is more so the working hours)
Working hours? Usually full time jobs are full time... Are you paid hourly?
