I’m about to interview at Palantir for an SRE role. I’m curious about the process, salary range, and what life is like after you’re hired. I’ve read a lot of polarizing things about the company.

i don't think describing them as a "cia front" company is accurate. i think they are doing some pretty cool work in visualizing and integrating big data problems for both public and private sector. they also do contribute to solving some pretty humanitarian issues. they do not collect data, simply give tools to visualize, integrate, and act on data.

i will say that they seem like a bit of a cult, although i think they do allow a fair bit of diverse thinking in terms of individuals, you should just expect to work long and hard with a lot of autonomy on the projects you're on.

yes? after working for several start-ups i can tell you the degree of influence investors have on startups, particularly as they become more self sufficient and successful, is highly variable

lmao you're just being super vague about what you're implying. you think CIA is sitting and managing Palantir from top-down? because that is what "shadowy cia front" implies

    It’s probably an on-site interview.

+1. Interjected "why don't we call [the terrorist] and ask him to stop?" No one else was amused ;)

They’re a shadowy cia front company—not that that’s a bad thing—and you expect them to not be polarizing.

Probably interesting work, but being subject to regular lifestyle and counterintelligence polygraphs sucks. Take it from someone who’s been there before. It’s stressful.
