I work in high frequency trading for the bank. I've been in this industry for about 5 years. Is 270 k an ok salary ? I feel like I've been low balled.

Buddy writes algo in HFT and makes $500
How much pnl does he/she generate ?
holy shit. i’m on the wrong business. what kind of experience do you need for this? i have 15 years programming with machine learning background. i’m only pulling in 190...
You need to be void of a soul and discard any empathy you had for the average American investor.
👆not difficult to do ;)
Is 270k just base?
I mean people out in Bay area make 400 odd for pure programming. I get pure cash though, none of those RSU or whatever they are called.
Note that 400k is not the norm. Blind can give your a very skewed perspective on the average pay. If thou believe you can earn that amount by moving to the bay, maybe that might be a better option.
I dunno if my skills are even saleable in the Bay area. Besides working on wall street definitely more interesting than what they have to offer there.
I am in the same boat. I take home mere $300K and feel that I am totally taken advantage of.
😂
:P well yes he's being a little silly but having interned at an IB it's no joke, if he's made it through 5 years of one of the most stressful jobs alive he deserves everything he gets, I wouldn't go anywhere near it ever again
