What does a performance engineer in apple hardware processor team do? Are they paid like software engineers in Apple or they are paid same as hardware engineers? Anyone can give breakdown of TC -base/bonus/rsus of performance engineer at Apple with 4 years exp? TC: 176k

Performance engineer can be a lot of things, QCOM doesn’t have one may be a modem system performance engineer, but join apple instead

Likely you’ll model and set performance expectations for specific workloads on future hardware. It’s not a software engineering role per se but you’ll have to work with software performance org.

It’d be commensurate with other HW engineers most likely since that is the org. I don’t know personally.
