I have cleared interview with Nvidia and very positive to get offer from 2 other companies as well. I'm seriously considering all 3 of them. I have a call with the first company recruiter to discuss my comp. I have never negotiated before. Any tips are welcome. In particular: What stock value/ 4 years should I indicate as my expectation (to get the best compensation)? Yoe: 2.5 Current Tc: 115k (yes, I'm sure; it includes everything)
Read the negotiation chapter of ‘cracking code interview’ Short but useful write ups
Yes that was helpful to some extent. It's sightly generic - just do it, ask for more, etc. but it did give me some perspective on how I must approach the call.
Yep, CTCI!
At the minimum, ask for double the initial RSUs they come up with and don't even think twice. You have the most room for negotiations in stocks. Less so with base and bonus.
Lol @ double initial RSU grant
I can second that just got a job with Nvidia as well they are more open to up the RSU s and joining bonus
Do you mind sharing your yoe and TC breakdown for my reference? Thanks!
Expect IC3 at Nv. Though NV pays higher base and lower on RSU compared to others
Forbidden to ask in Cali
What team? What role?
Nvidia is know to give numbers base on previous salary. If you have multiple offers then there is a lot of room to negotiate.
Don't give them a number. Ask them for their range instead
How do you not give them a number when the specifically, repeatedly ask you for your expectation? Do you say you don't know your expectation? Do you say you're not comfortable telling it first? Or do you say you need more time to come up with a number?
