2 months ago, manager put me on pivot and start pip. Today After 2 months of 50-60hrs / week work time, keep asking code review all the day and basically complete all tasks but today I was managed out and manager give me reason as one task carried to another sprint and I asked for more sprint points. I need to find a new job in 60 days as a foreigner worker.

Sorry bud. Though with a bit of research you would have realized that PIP really is a death sentence, and you could have been interviewing long before this point.

It’s because your manager has a 6% firing goal. Your SVP is measuring this, no way around it.

1000% true. Each org has a 6% firing target by Oct. 31, 2018.

Just apply everywhere and interview crazy. Get an offer and accept even if it’s not the best. Once you’re back on visa, find better opportunities.

Agree to above comment. Once you are on PIP or dev plan, start interviewing instead of putting enormous effort. The manager is on a mission to cut some employees and you can’t win it. Instead of doing work for your manager, just start interviewing.

Try to get a consulting job asap . They move fast and you'll have a job in a week. Take it from there

Seriously? Pip in 10 months in insane. Did you have any other issues with your manager or it is just lack of performance?

Not sure is is applicable to OP but I saw a bunch of a very entitled new grads at amazon during the past year hired during the hiring sprint who did not meet any bar :( they worked like 30h week, always were out around 5pm, and questioned why senior guys who had families etc stayed longer and that it was not “what they want in life”

Any attempt to reason with them about learning and development were useless.

My advice to OP have a good story why you went to leave amazon so soon as you’d be asked. Considering amazon reputation put an emphasis on “cultural fit”

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure you'll be okay. 60 days is a long time.

Why did he PIP you in the first place?

Are you H1b or still on opt? With H1b you have less. Ab 45 days as you need couple of weeks to prepare and file transfer.

Also account that 60 days for you cover 2 major holiday season in the US where many people would take a whole week off or at least a few days.

Ok. Read here and see how many total days you have left. (60 is a default for H1b) During the initial opt it’s total of 90days which count any days after your opt start date https://internationaloffice.berkeley.edu/students/employment/opt/unemployment
