Should I move to experience another city or continue to live in a low COL area and just buy a small plane?
There’s a reason why higher COL cities have a higher COL. Supply and Demand. Determine your demand and you’ll have your answer.
Lol buying a plane to save cost.🙈
Not to save cost. To experience more!

Flying your own plane isn't like driving a car. Weather can make a big difference. Plus, unless you're living and working right next to airports you'll eat up a lot of time getting to and from the airports.
Agreed. I'm aware of that and started keeping a binder of accident reports to be aware of in case I do become a pilot. It would be fun and I'd use it for travel in good weather or with an IFR cert. The fiery passion for flying just won't go away...if I lived somewhere I wouldn't necessarily want to be (Midwest) I feel that would justify buying a plane to use to frequently travel for fun.
Go for it, but I wouldn't count on it for a job commute unless your office time is really flexible.
Zhone exec used to commute in her personal jet between Tahoe and Oakland. Bad weather can really ruin your day... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sfgate.com/bayarea/amp/Bay-Area-exec-and-son-perish-in-plane-crash-3229910.php

I know people who live in lower cost of living and own planes and boats and they have way more interesting lives then the folks who live in HOL. That’s because they have money and a life. Seriously regretting my move. I’m thinking of going back to the LCOL place I came from and go back to owning a home and this time get myself a boat or a plane.
What will you do with the plane? Do you have a pilots license? Plan to travel that way?
Flying has been fascinating to me since I was little. I plan to obtain my pilot's license and buy a plane to use for travel
