What are interviewers expecting to see during first round or on site portfolio review?
I learned from a friend that Amazon has a special structure to follow and they don’t care much to let you finish your case studies.
What about Facebook, google, Uber, Airbnb or LinkedIn?
Amazon: Reviewers will be looking for qualities that align with the Amazon Leadership Principles, and will be paying special attention to project outcomes. Don’t focus too much on process or methods.
Facebook: You’ll have 15 minutes to walk through a project. Again, process isn’t super important, but make sure you highlight visD skills. A lot.
Google: Google doesn’t have a product design or UX design role. You’ll either be evaluated for Interaction design or visual design. Showing working prototypes is really impressive to Googlers.
Microsoft: You’ll have dozens of phone interviews, a design challenge, and an 8 hour on-site. Then, the recruiter will ghost on you for weeks before pretending not to know who you are when they finally do get in touch.
