Product or Program Manager (non-tech)?

I'm looking to make a move from Business Development/ Sales to a non-tech Product or Program Manager role (mostly Amazon, Microsoft etc.). What are the trade-offs between these two roles, including compensation, job responsibilities, work-life balance, skills needed, ease of getting in, personal growth, career growth etc? Any advice to help me sort this will be greatly appreciated

Purely from a TC perspective, Product > Program.

Unless you’re at Microsoft then they’re the same, and the same as SWE comp

What? That doesn’t make any sense.

In Microsoft, Program and Product Manager roles are same. Difference is only when you in work in Services, there it is only BPM with more focus on Capacity management with a bit of accounting, nothing technical.

Why is it more for a product manager? What are the differences in roles, knowledge, etc?
