I am interviewing for a Business Analyst L6 position at Amazon web services and an acquaintance of mine said that Amazon has an easy hire and easy fire policy. Is that really true? Is it something that a prospective new hire need to be worried about?

No I don’t think Amazon has an easy hire policy nor easy fire. Interviews go through two phone screens and then onsite with bar raiser involved. Been at Amazon for 4 years now but haven’t seen an easy fire. Normally goes through reviews, performance improvement plans etc before firing. Most low performers I’ve seen just switch teams.
