I have friends working at Facebook but not former co-workers or classmates. Can they be a reference to add extra credit for my interview in the hiring committee ? How does "the reference thing" work in the hiring committee? Thanks
Submitting as a lead means they donβt get a referral bonus and itβs not as strong a signal. But itβs not true that friends canβt submit you as a referral if they havenβt worked with you. I recently submitted a friend as a referral. After his loop the recruiter asked me for more information about him and sent me a form to fill out with a bunch of questions (how is he to work with, hows his prioritization, would I recommend him for hire, etc) saying it would help a lot in the debrief. I was honest in the form, giving feedback on him on a personal level and being straightforward that I hadnβt worked with him professionally.
Thank you
They can submit you as a "lead", but that means squat after the initial resume pass.
I just finished the interview today and I feel I am a bit on the edge. I am wondering if there are some ways to add some credit to myself
I don't understand what do you mean "as a lead" and "squat". Can you elaborate more? I am not a native speaker and not very familiar with slangs. Thanks
