Why is it that most of us here who probably have everything needed to live well (food, shelter, safety, livelihood) act like we have nothing? Chasing TC, disrespecting others, insecurity, selfishness, greed and many more manifestations.
Capitalism is designed to keep you unsettled and unhappy. The only way to be secure is to exploit others. Companies set workers against each other. It’s hard to avoid being isolated.
Human nature
Because you don’t have enough. You need $10M to do what you want to do. If you don’t have $10M you better chase TC.
Yeah 10m seems like where you can chill
Yay for FU$
Wait a minute... TC or GTFO!!
Cause I’m fighting to get a better house, education for my kids, spouse, promo, etc. There is still scarcity.
Even when you have a good TC compared to others, not everyone is in a position to enjoy it. For instance I care for my chronically ill mother on the other side of the country. Even with a good income, the CoL is pretty crippling. You may be high income but in many ways still check to check, albeit with retirement and some emergency funds. Those who can live somewhere with a high income, will still be paying it all away for CoL and other things that we ideally wouldn’t be paying for and would be just as content. I do envy those people who came from an upbringing where they aren’t dumping their income to care for loved ones who were unable to save.
+1
Justifies chasing TC but not misbehavior like disrespecting others. Not saying you do but many others do
