I am a new grad and trying to join Dell/EMC, found the base salary low (99k), while talking to the recruiter about it he told me to write an email with how much I want and justify it why. Don’t have any other offer at this point to negotiate but is interviewing. Can someone suggest what to write in the email? Location: Bay Area
Tell them you are interviewing for a position that has 120 - 140 base at co x & are in your final rounds...
You might want to include research from various sources on how much more those pay at entry level
Location? If it's in Austin, then that's around average.
Are you a masters grad with previous work ex? What’s the total TC? Any joining and relocation bonus?Including annual bonus if any.
Write her an email and ask for a template for the email and sample emails, and also how often they ask people to write such email, and the demography of candidate such request are made to. Remember always reply a BS with BS, don't write any email explaining why they should pay more, get another offer for sure. And I hope you already have a written offer from them.
tell em you have student debt even if you don’t
Use glass door, talk about how much revenue or cost savings you will bring
Wtf how is he supposed to know how much revenue he will bring in as a swe lol
Take a swag.. Introducing products x increase Consumption rate by y giving you revenue of XXX. Ergo with z% of Xxx is a fair salary. Goal seek z% to the TC you want. If hr wants to BS, BS them back
Just stay away. Dell has 85% of its networth in VMware, EMC is going downhill and won't pay. Just say you can find better offer else where.
Talk about how much graduates from your school make if you’re asking for more (assuming it’s more). Use another offer for leverage if possible. Talk about cost of living expenses. Dick move by the recruiter though.
