Pros: * Closer to family * Don't have to deal with Seattle weather and traffic * Higher standard of living for lower pay * You get over your nostalgia and homesickness * Don't have to deal with visas, immigration etc * You're closer to your own culture Cons: * Closer to family * Have to deal with Indian weather and traffic * Lower quality of life and lower pay * You realize that the India you grew up in is gone now * You have to deal with beurocracy, bribery etc * You realize the work culture in India is shit
I’ve realized lately that staying closer to family gives much more happiness. Staying here, I constantly keep thinking about their well-being and health which is much more added pressure on top of the work pressure.
@Chii I completely agree. Today, my dad told me, 'beta ghar aa jao, humara mann ni lagta yahan akele'. I almost cried thinking about the things they have done for me. Planning to move back soon.
@OP how long have you been in the States?
Do the math. I think if you have no debts (no EMIs to pay on house and car or anything else) and have a million dollars to take back with you then you should be able to live a decent life in India without any financial stress. That being said, everyone has a different financial goal and situation so do the math.
I moved back to India after 6 years in US last month. Loving it here. Life is so much better and relaxed :). Ping me if you got questions.
Sorry for not being clear enough, the note for questions is solely for OP. Got 15-20 messages already and I won’t be able to answer all of you.
Haha start a new thread about your experience
Cons: Relatives and sath wali aunties constantly asking shadi/bacha kab karoge!
Hahaha
Biggest con for me is pollution. Whenever I go to India I always fall sick because of it. Also the traffic and sheer amount of people is nuts. Even when I had never been to US I hated these things so it's only amplified now.
Such a Poo. #justkareena lol
I am moving next month after 6 years in US let me know if you have questions..how it goes time will tell but can help with questions related to moving and what made me make the decision
May I know, why u moved back to Indian from US.. as US salaries / savings are very high compared to India ?
1 US Dollar equals 65.21 Indian Rupee
Doesn't matter much. You earn and spend in the same currency.
