The startup position is right up my alley and something I've enjoyed doing at Intel. FAANG position is less appealing and doesn't seem to entail as much design work. Would I be crazy to pass up on the opportunity? Or should I try doing something new as it's only 3 months at a top name company? FAANG pay is slightly higher (~$5 / hr) in a better location, if it matters. This will possibly be my last internship so I'm taking possibility of return offers into account as well.
FAANG are so overrated. Esp early career you’ll be a speck in the ocean. Stick with the start up, you get so much more experience and responsibility, a better experience, possibly better financially in the end (gamble) and if you get all that varied experience at the startup you can get a REAL job (not internship) at a FAANG later on.
Hey, thanks for that! I definitely agree with you I'll have a ton of responsibility and learn a lot at the startup. However, as for full time opportunities, don't stocks make up a large portion of your TC (~30%)? Even if the startup does really well, is there any chance I'd ever be able to catch up to what I would be earning at FAANG?
