I have a verbal offer from a midsize startup. Recruiter from Goog reached out and I want to take the opp. I shared my status to expedite interviews. They want to know name of the company. Reveal / not reveal?
I have told straight to their (placement company) face that reveling where I am interviewing doesn’t help with my application at your company. So, let’s focus on hiring at your company. This kept them at the bay when tried to exercise their agenda.
What possible benefit to you could there be in revealing this information?
None, besides having another FAANG offer expedites my interview process - that should be true regardless of offer from where ever
But what is really the downside? Just saying company name without any other details doesn't really say a lot...
I’d say don’t reveal. If I’m the recruiter I’d consider it a negative to reveal it in that I want to hire staff who demonstrate ability to keep an item confidential under pressure.
You can bullshit saying you have a verbal offer and negotiating with FB or <insert FAANGDULAXZTabcehdhsusj> company name here. Not that they can verify.
