Riot Games Overtaking Blizzard?

I genuinely believe we'll have a lot more market share after the next few years. That said, I don't think Blizzard is going anywhere. They still make awesome games, and even though they've made some mistakes recently, I think it'll probably just inspire them to do better. More likely, we'll see competition ramp up between Riot and Blizzard, which is awesome for players in the long run
That is absolutely false. Blizzard is a dead man walking. Look at the company, all the competent people have left, and what remains are failed projects in the pipeline that they have to launch of desperation, not because the product is any good. Blizzard is fucked. Using blizzard as a comparison is stupid because the company won't even be relevant in 2 years time. They've been recycling the same bullshit ips feeding nostalgia to old school gamers for a decade now. Kind of like pokemon, except Nintendo, despite it too being a slow af company, has even learned to innovate. And their ip is way better

Honestly, kind of a boring lineup. Just seems like a HS, Overwatch, Diablo riff. Was hoping for something more innovative and interesting, but these are basically the same experiences we provide... just with not as good art/IP. “Runeterra” is also a terrible name. The League IP “lore” is really contrived, and the world building seems forced. The real cool stuff won’t come out of Blizz or Riot, seems like.

All the comments from Rioters are really nice to Blizzard and its legacy and they mentioned the players a few times. Then I see this one. No wonder, we are where we are as a company.
Honestly the "kill Blizzard" is a bit of a narrative the press has concocted that has very little to do with what we are trying to do, which is make awesome games for players. So many of us love Blizzard games. Many of us even got into the industry because of our first true core games being Blizzard games. We hope our players love what we will make for them.
Riot is very good at copying established concepts and giving it a little twist. But I wish they would have a unique thought once in a while.

We didn't declare war against anyone btw. Don't believe shitty journo clickbait. We just had a buncha game ideas in the works and figured it made sense to announce them all at once to kill the "s in riot games" memes. We have a lot of ex-blizz folks here and we have tremendous respect for them and for Blizzard Most of us grew up on Blizzard games and looked towards them as the North star of what good games and a good gaming company looked like Sure they've lost their way a bit - even the best runner trips on ocasion - but I'm confident they'll bounce back and keep making awesome games
