I don’t know what was wrong with him. I had an initial call and asked him about the levels, and it triggered a fit. He said ‘you only have 4-5 yoe, it doesn’t even meet our senior bar, probably junior. Oh you wanna know the staff requirement? No,no,no...you don’t wanna hear that. You do? Ok, staff is at least 10 yoe, and at least of 5 yoe as a team lead. Have you even been a team lead? You don’t even have a master’s degree.’ I’m senior at a company in the same tier. It made his fit worse when I told him I had been a team lead, and that I have interviewed linkedin senior candidates myself, and my coworkers and my consensus was most of those senior candidates didn’t even meet our junior bar. I’ve set up interviews with FAANG and a few unicorns and went through my identical question list. I never had such bad experience. I endured 10 minutes of his mocking. How do I report him?
hmm ... is he rude, or you feel too entitled, that's the question.
I simply asked him ‘what’s the leveling criteria at LinkedIn? I’m currently Senior at xxx’
I don’t think he’s a millennial, irreverent question.
Post this on Linkedin and tag my handsome Weiner.
Meh had a similar experience with google recruiter (although after receiving offer) My 0.02 was that there s nothing to gain so just pick another offer and move on.
@fooing_bar, completely agree. @k4av5e You should DM me so I can hire you @indeed and we can build a platform that will crush LinkedIn. That’ll show em!
Lol, good one.
It's probably the bar for external candidates, for some weird reason we down level external candidates even though it's super easy to get promoted between levels (up to staff at least). I've seen hires as senior for people with over 10 yoe (and internal promotions to senior for ncg after two years). I guess that keeps new hires working extra hard to get that promotion back to their level.
That's the stupidest fucking thing I've heard.
It's definitely a dumb policy.
LinkedIn levels seem to vary...The intern I helped 7 years ago is a LI senior while the architect I had at that time is also a LI senior. The first made senior without 4-5 yoe.
Post the interview experience on glassdoor. Mention his name.
Post the recruiter’s name here
