SDE role @ AWS AI
I've recently interviewed for SDE role in AWS AI. What kind of work does the teams do as opposed to normal SDE? The interviewer mentioned that work will be in C++ and Python mostly. I got the offer for SDE1. I have masters with specialization in Deep Leaning. I have close to 5+ yrs of work exp as software engg. In HW field. I felt that they have low balled me. Do they increase the level once they have decided ? What TC can I ask for. Any pointers would be helpful.

Max sde1 offer like 190k and sde2 290k. Get competing offers.

5+ yoe should be at least sde2, even senior at Msft, and 200k+ TC. Keep interviewing unless this is the best offer you can get.
Being downgraded during hiring by Amazon isn't too unusual. It's definitely shitty they do it so often to qualified candidates. That said, over qualified SDE I's can reach lvl 2in about a year
