I'm 4 and half years experienced in IT industry. I am looking for jobs (software engineer/developer) in London, Dublin (ireland), Berlin, Dresden (Germany) Whilst recruitment process, one of questions is what's salary expectations, Hence I would like to know specific numbers of salary to expect at these three-four locations? Considering my YoE and location, I don't want to get underpaid, also another major factor to consider is living cost at all these places, which I find bit difficult to get accurate answers of, on web. Can someone please help me out here? Thanks!!!
I can answer questions for Dublin. Which role are you applying for and what type of company?
It's for software company. And role is software engineer
You can expect from 60k-90k Developers, not engineers, make around 40k-80k
Look at payscale.com for real salary information.
Ok.let me check that too
I can talk about Amsterdam as the Netherlands offer tax benefits to expats. You can expect 70K before tax for instance.
Okay, I had applied to a few companies there, but couldn't get any response, also less good companies are there!
Booking.com Amazon TripActions Ebay Catawiki are good companies to consider
Taxes in germany are super high! About 42% if you make good money. I’m moving there with Google next month can give you more details when i have them. I wouldn’t move for less 100k euro
Congo on Google. What's your YoE? I think, 100k is not possible for me. And do update once you get there.
Make sure you negotiate. Talk about high taxes and expensive CoL
65-85k in Germany. For really senior (7YoE or good candidate) a few pay 100k. There is google and amazon here that are able to go beyond that. People will cry that it is not enough, yadayada, yeah, not Bay Area, but you can have a good life with that. Not saving a ton but still. CoL is great.
What did you get finally? decision?
Don't go to Dublin. The salaries might look ok (around 70-80k per year) but the taxes are high, the rents are high and the city got really expensive overall.
Ohh..I have been interviewing for one of companies there..I mentioned my expectations as 80k, but I have explicitly told them that it may change later, as I don't have much knowledge of market there BTW- what's the tax there?
I don’t think tax is any different from Germany. It’s 20% for under 47k and 40% for anything after 47k
