I work at a small company in Ad Sales. I’ve been selling for a long time. At my current gig, I am the newest sales person on the team, but more experienced IMO. The senior AE has been at co for over a decade and is almost like family to the Executive team. We have a system where if you enter an account into our CRM, it is yours in perpetuity. Even if you haven’t worked it. I’m constantly having to turn over prospects and even sold business because they are technically on this reps list. I’ve never had this happen in any other sales job. I am not privy to her list, and the sales manager doesn’t want to upset the system as this rep is their top performer. I’m about to walk...but is this the way of the world now? I AM bringing in new business and have wrestled a few accounts away from this rep, but I’m not loving the environment this creates.
Sounds very unfulfilling
