I'm a Business Systems Analyst working in Insurance here in San Francisco. I have NEVER worked on Salesforce but I'm interested in taking the Admin certification test to get into the field or in general advance my career in it. I also plan on taking the advanced certification once I have a few years of experience with it. Is the certification worth it? How helpful can it really be in terms of growth, TC & finding better opportunities?
The majority of jobs want that certification
What’s the general pay?
Depends on location, tenure, and skill level. Could be as low as 45k to as high as 150k. Notice I said tenure vs skill level. You can have years under your belt but in the same company with very little time spent extending and enhancing your skill level. It’s possible to spend two years in a consulting company where you’ll be exposed to many different orgs and strategies.
Start on trailhead, study for the certification and volunteer or try consulting gigs to get experience. Good people are hard to find the cert is a good start but nothing beats experience.
Agreed!! But how helpful is it to land good opportunities with Admin certification compared to no certification? Like I said I'm new to Salesforce & this certification seems like a good start point.
