Salesforce or MongoDB

Hi everyone,

I receive offers for a SWE internship from these two companies and would like your input!

Salesforce:
-in SF
-slightly higher pay
-team: building some internal tools. Interns will be integrated to the team rather than having a self-contained project.

MongoDb:
-in NYC
-slightly less pay
-team: don’t know yet but most interns get first choice.

These are the factors I have in mind for now:
-return offers (I’m a junior in college)
-is the work interesting?
-which one is better to stay for a few years after graduation.
-career growth?
-TC?
-which one is better if I want to get into FAANG later on?

Few free to discuss your choice and explain why!

Thank you so much!

You are a lot more likely to get a Salesforce return offer than from mongodb. Their stock isn't doing very well with limited growth.

The majority of the intern class got return offers last summer at mongo

Mongo typically only sources it’s new grad class from the intern class. Often times they run out of space for non-interns just based on how many interns choose to return

  • Easy. MDB. You’ll make a long more in the long term with the stock.

Thank you for the info. What do you think if location is not a deciding factor?

    • Still Mongo. Growth trajectory there is far steeper than Salesforce.
