You guys are in the heart of bay area and you guys all share the same projects on your resume ? When someone tries to talk sjsu up because of the location, if that's true, then why dont the students work/intern at Uber , lyft, Airbnb, lime, Robinhood, Pinterest, and all the other young companies as software engineers ? Why don't they come to you ?
How much robin hood pays?
I took cs221 last term. Midterm was 31 pages and average grade was 40/100. Tom Mitchell would have barely scored 50/100. You learn the most working on projects. Stanford got it right! But I agree SJSU sucks they all have same resumes (look for the autonomous toy car that they all do)
Also, Stanford students still get into top tech companies even with a biology major coz they went through a bootcamp
They got into Stanford, so they must be good at something.
Isnt it San Jose Spouse University now?
I agree with every insult you throw at it
What point are you trying to prove, OP?
I don’t remember any good engineers coming out of Sjsu. Of course not everyone is bad but what I found were mediocre
Sad but true. I went to SJSU for bachelor and master in computer science. Though I think SJSU undegrads are much harder than master programs.
Where does SAP get its engineers from?
India.
Look into hardware companies in SV. SJSU grads are everywhere in that part of the world. That's recent grads to alumni from the last 30 yrs.
SJSU is terrible. I would not recommend it to anyone unless it’s your last choice. The quality of students there holistically are terrible. I mean state school is the lowest tier. I’m not saying 100% are incompetent but a safe 90-95%. Actually the head of CS department said he met with some CTO’s that said SJSU graduates were most unprepared for work environment out of college. Source: I graduated from there myself. I only went there because I had to support my family financially while putting myself through school. I started a startup 4 years ago and exited. I got an MBA from M7 last year so it’s been helping me erase SJSU from my memory, but I still get nightmares sometimes.
I went to Santa Clara and that school isn’t doing much better. Problem is every company feels entitled to Stanford grads.
Are Stanford grads inherently better?
Lol no. Santa Clara COEN is harder than Stanford CS. At Stanford 50% of your grade is coding problems. At Santa Clara your grade is broken down to 40% midterm 1 40% midterm 2 20% final. Oh and that 5 unit engineering lecture + lab you’re taking? 1 unit of your grade is the lab (actual engineering). So outdated it’s insane.
