“On September 5 we are going to introduce legislation to end the absurdity of middle class taxpayers having to subsidize large, profitable corporations, many of which are owned by billionaires. If Amazon, Walmart and other corporations won’t pay their workers a living wage, our bill would establish a 100 percent tax equal to the amount of federal benefits received by their low-wage workers. The American taxpayer should not be subsidizing the richest people in history so they can underpay their employees.”

Yo Bernie and bros, if you have balls then go after Walmart or Koch brothers. No, you won’t because you are a chicken. Let’s target soft ones like Amazon.

Don’t be mad because your CEO bought a propaganda rag that’s firmly in President Trump’s crosshairs.

This is the only thing I kinda agree with Bernie on. In a true capital system the labor will be paid according to market. But due government assistant programs workers get by lower wages. Those assistant programs are funded by tax payers. No government assistant programs = higher wages for workers.

Btw Blackberry??? That’s like a snow leopard citing.

Low wages are due to govt programs -- that's rich. Corps are magically going to be incentivized to pay higher wages? Get real

I'm not hot on Sanders overall, but the testicular fortitude he's got is on point and undeniable.

If by “giving Trump a middle finger in every speech and every action” you mean, mostly did whatever Trump asked and made sure that Trump would have a cooperative Republican Senator after he died, then sure, yeah McCain did that.

Ha, looks like another tRamp supporter with alternative facts.
Good luck you. Republicans rain will be over in a few months. Once democrats hold House and Senate, that joke of the president will unravel in such a spectacular way. Can’t wait!

I don’t want him to be impeached. A) Pence just as soulless and corrupted, but much better politician. B) why make it easy for djt.
      C) just imaging the meltdowns he will have. On Twitter, daily! That will be the best reality tv you will ever see.

I’m trying to understand how you gathered that I’m a Trump supporter from my post. I think Trump is awful, but I think it’s important to point out that he is not really an outlier in the Republican Party. His views are broadly shared by members of the GOP, and he differs from guys like John McCain much more in style than substance. McCain was a piece of shit whose opposition to Trump was entirely superficial. He supported the Trump administration’s stated position 83% of the time, and that’s after an ignoble career of war mongering, gutting social services, and running with Sarah Palin aka Trump if he was a MILF. The way he’s being lionized right now is fucking nauseating.

“The American taxpayer should not be subsidizing the richest people in history so they can underpay their employees.”

More to the point, employees should not be underpaid in order to make these companies the richest in history.

US productivity and the value produced have increased but those increases have only gone to the company as wages stagnated for 40 years thanks to decades of pro-employer legislation and attacks on unions.

Bernie wants to address this through the ballot and the congressional bill hopper - These “right to work” laws and so on should be reversed but I think it will take the picket, not the ballot to really change this situation.

“Count to ten,” he [sanders] wrote in another tweet. “In those ten seconds, Jeff Bezos, the owner and founder of Amazon, just made more money than the median employee of Amazon makes in an entire year.”

I hope this does not have the unintended consequence of the corporations trying to get government aid cut to these people. That's another way they can cut their tax proposed in this bill.
