Got Canadian PR and currently traveling within Canada. For those living in Vancouver or Toronto could you give me an idea of the cost of living such as monthly living cost, rent, utilities, daycare, etc and savings for a couple that makes 150k cad annually total with two children under 5. Let’s say I rent a 2 bed appt in a modest area with one car and going out for entertainment 2-3 times a week like movies or dinner.
And dont forget to lock your bicycles and take the wheels with you. Or they'll be stolen.
With all things you mentioned (daycare, rent, cost, two ppl, etc), you are looking at 200k annually at least I think. Remember tax is huge in Canada, the 2 bedroom apartment in decent area easily cost 2.5k per month let alone you want include day care.
Not that saying 150k won’t work, but you certainly can’t save with that budget.
And dont forget to buy lube for the icbc ass raping you are going to get if you buy a car. Most respectable dealerships include the lube for free with the car nowadays.
This yes 😶
I’m a single earner with around 170k salary. I have 30 min commute to work in downtown Vancouver. I live in a new 2 bedroom apartment with my wife and kid with amazing mountain views. I manage to save more than 30% of my salary. Moved to Canada 3 years ago. DM me for any other details.
+1. I live here too with a base of 135k and things are not as grim as everyone makes it sound.
How much do you save each month ?
Hahaha...in Vancouver you'd be able to afford a studio apartment and 2 bicycles, and eat out once every 2 months
