Hi everyone! I am sure I sound like someone you read on before but I am relocating to Seattle in June and I’ve sent over 75+ applications since January. In return I only had two phone interviews. One with a FAANG company who recruited me and and deep linking software company. I am looking for any assistance in terms of any companies that are hiring, for referrals, and anything in between. I am currently a TAM with 1 YOE. Any help is appreciated!
Find recruiting and networking events on eventbrite and see if you can go personally to meet the teams / hiring managers.. I was in the same situation, needed a job in Seattle and that's what I did.. In my case I moved, worked remote for my current company and parallely looked for a job. The only calls I got were thru these networking events. Never got a call by applying online.
Thank you!! Is eventbrite free to sign up?
Just search on eventbrite using keywords like "Tech networking" or "Tech Events" or "hiring events". Depends on the event, some are paid and some are free.
What is deep linking? And where u coming from, u sure u want seattle?
Deep linking is when a hyperlink is used to direct a user to a specific content on a web webpage instead of having to start from the homepage. I’m coming from the Midwest, Missouri to be exact. And kind of? I know the city has turned tech heavy so it has me interested in terms of career development. If you don’t mind me asking, is their another opinion I should think about?
Bay area if you are frugal, otherwise, socal, NYC, or TX. Only Amzn/MS are hq'ed in Seattle. If you don't mind being in a satellite office, other cities are better than Seattle.
Triple Byte
Thank you! Do they have non-engineer listings as well?
Find recruiters in Seattle on LinkedIn and send msg to them. That is the standard at west coast.
Thank you! I’ll go ahead and do that.
Hired.com has a few good startups on it. Axon probably has the best compensation (if you don’t mind working on police software). And Microsoft seems to be hiring pretty aggressively right now. Also, DomainTools is hiring and known for being a great company to work for.
Thank you! I’ll look into this!
