How to prepare for behavioral questions? I heard that all interviews will have Leadership components attached to it. For those people who want to ask why Google to Amazon- I am just exploring opportunities and want to practice for interviews 😂
As a googler, why do you want to jump to Amazon?
InB4 amazon beats your TC and you have an existential crisis
“Tell me about a time where you [insert amazon principle here]” prepare 1-2 examples for each and focus on what you have done and not what the team has done.

Yoe?
It’s not really worth it for technical practice. 60% of the time is spent on behavioral questions.
I agree with points above. Google to amazon move doesn’t make much sense from number of points and technically isn’t probably challenging anyways. Also amazon LPs aren’t useful for other companies as well. I’d just recommend skipping on this interview and go with other companies. As per the question you can get a way more information from your amazon recruiter if you ask them for help. Many LPs such as “bias for action” and “customer obsession” and such should really be easy to come by. But you may want to reflect more on things like “driving consensus among teams” (earn trust), “technical intuition and foresight” (are right a lot, ownership), “having a method, clear goals and success metrics in hiring” (hiring the best), examples of growing tech talent (hire and develop the best), examples of you consulting L7+ managers, examples driving/influencing multi team efforts. L6 candidates often struggle to come up with good examples for these on the spot.
All of the behavioral questions will be around LPs: Tell me about the most difficult interaction u had at work [LP: Have backbone, disagree and commit] Tell us about a time where u overcame an obstacle and delivered results [LP: Deliver results] Describe how would you handle a situation where 2 or more people are waiting to help you. [Bias for action] Questions would be around customer obsession, earn trust, frugality,.. Prepare atleast 2 or 3 examples for each LPs...
I recently went through it and got a downleveled L5 offer. Although I doubt theylll do that in your case. They’re lucky that a googles is even considering joining them. Interviews are very easy. So you won’t even get much leetcode practice
How about the behavioral questions? Do they ask a lot? How did you prepare for that
Yeah, 5 interviews and I think each of them pick two LPs to assess. Every interview is ~20-25mins LPs and then a coding/systems design question. I don’t think you can specifically prepare for each of the LPs. They ask general questions and then infer if you adhered to the LPs implicitly. So I would just go over 5-6 scenarios/projects over your career where you went through the most learning in your head and use them to answer their questions while being conscious about the LPs.
The real question is why are you tagging Microsoft? 😁
Because people move a lot between Amazon and Microsoft 😂 Both are considered same tier companies
I am offended by that.
