Hello all, I was curious what it would take to get an interview at Netflix for a Senior Software Engineer position, and what would help me stand out to get the job. Currently I have a few years experience via internships and am now 6 months in at my first full time job building Media Streaming applications for Roku connected devices. My 3-5 year goal would be to make this job at Netflix a reality. Any and all advice and guidance in this area would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Cheers Jakub
First tip, don't be that douche who counts your internship as years of experience. You have 6 mo exp. In another 5 years you might be ready for senior at Netflix. But, why do you need to join as senior?
Mostly because we generally don't have interns / junior folks.
First off, I'm not a douche, there are no clearly defined rules about experience unless you wrote them and didn't tell us. I am just looking for guidance not condescension. In response to Usernamels that is what I figured, which is why I am trying to prepare for an opportunity a few years down the road.
Thank you very much for your response, out of curiosity why do you say Java as the language to know inside and out and not something else like JS? (Not that I favor one or the other)
