Serious: It’s not “cool” to be White right now.
I applied to 36 jobs over the last few months and each time I disclosed that I was a) White and b) Male. My response rate was zero. Yes, zero. Two weeks ago I started applying by putting “does not wish to identify” or whatever option was available that did not force me to provide race or sex information. After applying to just 13 jobs, I got 5 responses within 8 days. Just finished a second interview a few days ago and today I was extended an offer. I’m truly elated to begin a new chapter with a new employer and I wanted to share this information in case anyone else is having a difficult time on their job hunt. Affirmative action is hindering the quality of the American workforce. Merit should come first, not race or sex. I mean this both ways so don’t misconstrue what I’m saying and start lecturing me. Buddy sorry to burst your troll/bubble, you are not the only one who doesn't get a response. In 2009 I applied for about 100 and got by called by one company. I am not white. These days no one applies online and companies do not follow up to any of online apps

I'm a white dude and my response rate to job applications is also zero, but that's not how job hunting works anymore so dunno what to tell you bro. Recruiters reaching out to you first is the only way to get an interview.
