To make us happy
I couldn't solve a leetcode hard in under 30 minutes.
If listening to others' sad stories makes you happy, you need therapy.
45+ career went to death after 23 yrs of experience and three companies (two layoffs). Working as a low contractor. Gained weight, lost hair. Scared about future about making ends meet and pay for kids education. Happy ? No sex in one year
Oh man that last part. Like rubbing salt in the wounds.
Hey @qualcomm. I am sorry this happened to you. Shit happens to everyone at some point in time or the other, and that only makes us humble and realize we all are replaceable in this job market. Since you have good experience, it shouldn't be difficult to get a good job again. Hold on to the current job you have and keep trying for a better one. Don't be too scared for things that *might* happen. I recently changed my diet and it has helped me tremendously with weight control, lesser hair fall, staying active, topped by a 'feel good' factor. Surprising how a small change can improve things drastically. Give it a shot. Wishing you luck.
If you’re on this app, you have more wealth than 98% of the world’s population.
Yup. More people just need to take a quick flight to a real poor country to see how good they have it here. (Unless you're a victim or gun violence, healthcare, massive debt, depression)
Contractor. Traveling every week. Working 60+ hours. Trying to escape. Applied to 50+ places, last interview they said went well, then they rejected me saying they wanted someone with more yoe. Why even interview me that was on my resume
I once try to cheer up a sad guy who won't be happy unless others are sad.
International student in the US. Cracked 3 interviews post my graduation, turned out later that company doesn't sponsor or position was closed down because of internal changes. About to exhaust my OPT unemployment in a few weeks, which means I've gotta leave the country soon. Roughly 100k in student debt (coz I was an MBA grad). All this after being in the top 5% of the class in a top-20 school and ton of relevant experience. Just a bucket load of bad luck.
Check out Axtria's website and let me know if anything interests you. I can help expedite your process. Pay is less but it's better than being unemployed
That does suck! Have you looked at Canada as an option? Somewhat easier than the US from an immigration point of view I’ve heard. What was your concentration in and which school if you don’t mind me asking?
My start up didn’t get VC funding.
Applied for a job that would have been perfect doing it for a company that has the best culture and benefits. Didn't get it because they didn't actually mean to list the job yet; it wasn't a position they wanted to fund and they weren't sure they'd ever need anyone in that role.
I accidentally shot and killed my dad on a hunting trip when I was 7
And now u are a big supporter of freedom to bear arms
Because guns don't kill, stupid
