Shit offer

This isn't for me but the engineering intern. Shes been working in the company for 5 months as an engineering intern and already has her masters in Mechanical Engineering. She got an offer from my boss yesterday. 50k no sign on bonus. For reference I have BS in engineering 2 yoe first offer was 59k. Current salary is 65k. I was guessing they'd offer her at least 65k. She is from India and some of her friends here with masters got 65-75k offers. What you guys think ?

Negotiate

It depends on the location. It's a good offer if it's not in NY or Bay area.

50k? Is that quarterly salary

Microsoft Dmitri Oct 23, 2018

I'm sure the income tax you paid is more than that. But you can't compare the cost of living of Bay area with middle of nowhere.

If you don't have a better offer, that's probably what you're worth

Wrong. If you don't have a better offer, take it and keep trying for a better one.

My husband is a software engineer for 10 years and get 85 k only in a startup in CA. I think if you Leetcode you would double at least this number.

Negotiate. Sounds like she already knows the offers her friends got, so she should use that information to negotiate.
