I have an offer of 7k RSU and 150k base from Uber. Currently earning 250k stocks and 145k base at my current company. Should I make a change? I see that people were made RSUs offers worth 10k+ for l4 level but my recruiter wouldnt change the offer at all inspite of my current package same as the one being offered by Uber. Why is Uber low balling me?
Two factors for your comp: your interview performance and competing offers. This applies anywhere not only at Uber.
Isnt my current offer itself a competing offer? If I didnt perform well, why eould the company extend me an offer?
It’s always good to have multiple options at hand for negotiation. We used to give super low ball offers in 2016 and 2016, but now anymore.

If we competed against everyone’s current numbers or other offers this would cause pay disparity among people in the same level. Then the media will eat us and we’d get slammed for pay inequality.

I let it go twice both times because of offer, I was told that they have bands and limit on refreshes now, they are trying to standardize everything is what i was told both time. 50k yearly refresh is pretty low if you ask me

A 8 billion + dollar company which offers an opportunity to work on challenging distributed systems problems and a salary which Uber couldnt match.

A prerequisite to change job is higher compensation. Otherwise, you will have higher expection and easily get unhappy in the new role. It's human nature.

Then why go to Uber ? Nutanix is growing fast enough and if the offer has no uploads at Uber why leave ? I believe Uber offer is @48 per stock ? And they limit the refreshers also to some 40k per year now , it’s the new norm @uber
Yes Uber offer @48 per stock. The RSU refresher is ~50k + cash refresher ~10k.
They shouldn’t be offering it at preferred price. They should be giving it at a conservative 409a valuation and at a cash value
