I know this question has been redundantly asked in here, I am damn frustrated with my current job and it’s so hard to even work an hour here and I do have the H1B receipt for another non-fang company. I am getting thoughts to join on receipt. What do you recommend. Update: My future employer has given me a backup plan and in case of rejection they will transfer me to a location outside USA and then get me back after few months. Current TC 180k/YOE 2
I think there are lots of folks saying no.. And I think one year even I would have said no.. But im frustrated too and joining on receipt mostly.. What I did to minimize risk is ensure my soc code isn't changing, and falk to immigration about a back up plan in case I join and there's a denial.. True I don't have a family so that might be a big input to not worry about.. But I don't think being in a sucky job is making your life any better..
What is soc code ?
Specialty occupation code.. Basically trying to see if according to uscis your job is similar enough risk might be lesser.
If you have a bachelor's degree in computer science in the US, and do not have a family, I'd say go for it. If you are worried, just ask your new employer in detail what backup plans it can provide if you get denied. My previous company was an absolute shithole. I joined Google on receipt. Still waiting for approval. I have been living happily ever since. Nothing is more important than your well-being.
I don’t have a bachelors degree in CS from US, I have masters from US but that is also not in CS. My future employer has given me a backup plan to move to a different location in case of a problem.
Then don’t, lots of rfe’a which ask how is the work related to your degree of education.
Go for it yo! Most(not all) of the cases are getting approved sooner or later. I’m joining on receipt as well because I can’t take the shit at my current job anymore
How long its been pending now? Maybe take some vacation and have fun before you join the new company.
I got the receipt recently.
How many days after filling did you get the receipt?
Can we go on vacation after quitting and before joining? Is that considered out of status?
I think that’s out of status.
I think that will count against your unemployment grace period of 60 days, but won't be out of status if it's within the limit.
I am in a situation where I cannot take the shit at my current job anymore but I am married. Its so tempting to join on receipt but moving to another country is not probably an option for me. Its getting very frustrating.
Even I am not so sure of all the hassle that can come with the a rejection and when I weight in the shit I am taking right now to that I think maybe I can keep taking the shit. But in general I have gone in a fuck off state as soon as I got the receipt.
What about changing team? Not sure if its going to impact the ongoing transfer.
OP switching where ? And new TC ?
Can’t tell the company but TC is 240k for future company.
Hey Mr oversmart that’s none of your business. Keep your abusive language to yourself and GTFO shit from no name company, I don’t want you to weigh in the pros and cons. I choose not to tell you. Nobody will take you actually that’s why you can’t go. Bloody hypocrite desi, grapes are sour for you.
