Tiny (5) company got acquired by a much larger (800+) company. For a while we (4 solid engineers) were maintaining our old product, but then it was learned we’d be transition off of our old product onto a new product in the acquiring company’s product suite. We’ve over time learned that our new team isn’t working out. We were happy maintaining our old application under our interim EM, who had been at the larger org for a while. We were even happy with the vision of, and steps taken to build towards the new solution in their infra/product suite. Management decided to bring in a new full time EM for us. We had to fight to get to interview the candidate and the group conclusion from the four of us was a “no hire” rating. Since then management has started a designer who is sub-par, which none of us interviewed, and a lead who no one interviewed but is a referral from our newly hired EM who’s been “meh” so far. We did get super lucky with a solid PM who came as a transfer from another team. It’s pretty apparent that it isn’t working. All of the engineers (sans new lead) have been throwing around the idea of leaving/starting interviews elsewhere for the past few months. Should we give it another shot with the new company and stick it out, should we cut our losses and leave now, or should we attempt to request transfer to other teams and see what the larger company can facilitate?
No, and please don’t try to guess it. Hoping for an objective answer given the scenario at hand.
You may want to look up the difference between "objective" and "ignorant". More context could help if people know how the acquiring company works.
What’s your tc? First answer that and then hope for answers. Also while you are at it, tell us the company name.
Can’t give company name since that’d give full identities. TC is ~180k + benefits at a SSE title

This always happens in acquisitions. Culture fit issues. I've experienced it from the acquiree side. Gotta move on in 1-2 years at most. My friend's small startup got acquired by Amazon a few years back. They all moved on in a few years.

Move on unless you have golden handcuff.
