Does Amazon give sign on bonus in one go or on a monthly basis? Usually it's a lump sum in all companies but they said Amazon does it differently Is there room to negotiate and ask for lump sum upfront instead of monthly payments? (awaiting offer) YOE:3 TC: 180
For new grads, the first year is a lump sum and the second year is monthly.
Is this how they paid sign on always???
Only at amazon
Thereās a dollar amount threshold. If itās under a certain amount, itās paid in your first or second check. If itās over a certain amount, itās broken up into equal amounts and paid over the course of the year. The threshold used to be $25,000 but I donāt know if thatās still the same or not.
That's good to know
Most folks donāt last 2 years so monthly signin bonus makes it easy for amazon to get the money back
Yeah that's what I thought too!
my friend, you must first understand the time value of money
It's not a signing bonus, but cash to cover back heavy vesting schedule. But Amazon recruiters are trained to call it that, and people fall for it.
Bonus is paid out every paycheck for the first 2 years. First year total is slightly more than second year due to the higher stock vesting. No exceptions
