In the tail end of my Amazon internship, looking for full-time SWE positions starting January 2020.

Did 800+ unique LCs over the last five months. Not quite as many as the other guy but I’ve had full-time school/work the whole time 🤷‍♂️

I’ve also looped back through and solved many of these problems 2 or 3 times.

Regularly beat ~95% users on mocks and usually hit top 200 in contests.

Feel pretty confident about interviews and would appreciate referrals to get me started.

Thanks!

Does anyone care about that though? Nobody in the loop would look at them... Maybe the hiring manager will once decision has been made. Seems pointless. Correct me if wrong. Also, what if someone (like me) is looking to eventually monetized things that they’ve built? Sharing perhaps is not a great idea.

GPA on the other hand — everyone will ask for that during the first 3 years of OP’s career at least.

Nobody ever asked me about GPA, even when I was interviewing at Google. I don't put it on my resume either.

No personal projects, although I feel that internship projects have filled that role for me as far as learning system design and such.

      GPA is 4.0, but from a no-name school 🤷‍♂️

@pzd oracle was the only company that asked for gpa and apparently very strict about it too.

Haha no way, there are plenty of people better/faster than me, but I think if I did more contests I could work my way up to top ~500 rank or so

  • What’s your leetcode routine like while also juggling school/work? I admire and respect your discipline. Having so much trouble myself.

During school I would just carry around my laptop and do a problem in between classes, and often during class as well

It’s harder with work, but I usually can do a little bit in the evenings after work and a *lot* on weekends.

It helps that I enjoy LC, so it never really felt like work

Haven’t studied for that, under the pretense that new grads are mostly asked algorithms questions.

Ah, missed the intern part. No design questions for new grad.

this is what it takes huh
how much time did you spend per problem?

      OP
Lol this is probably overkill honestly.

Time spent is hugely variable - some easy/meds I could immediately solve in 5-10 min, but I have also spent 1-2 hours on a single hard when I was learning some new pattern or algorithm.

      Leetcode Mocks

Its basically just a couple of timed LC problems, so not quite a full interview experience, but I still feel like its good practice
