Anyone know much about this company? I’m interviewing and can’t get a sense of their relevance in the space or culture. And comp? TC400k
It’s managed by breitbart
Just by name and being in cloud industry, they should be valued at 1 billion right off the bat.
Apparently $1.5B start up
My data eng team holds them in high regard. Apparently their product is top notch and built by engineers well versed in the space.
Go for it, they’re giving MS and Oracle a run for their money in the DW space. Led by Bob Muglia, he was the head of Server & Tools at MS before he was forced out and replaced with the current D&I apologist in chief.
Thanks! They were impressed but I may be too senior, getting VP approvals to see if there is a space for me and I’ll hear back. I’m super interested in what they are doing.
Not related to your question, but what does your YOE look like?
They’re advertising/marketing against Teradata is super sketchy and full of misleading statements... their product seems pretty good though if you need more than redshift
In previous role I used snowflake computing extensively. They provide a cloud based data warehousing oriented database. As an engineer I LOVED their product. It's blazing fast. We migrated to snowflake after trying TERADATA and EXADATA. Both products were very expensive and very hard to maintain. Snowflake is just amazing and it's far better than many many alternatives. In the past I have used Impala, Vertica, GreenPlum, and many ALL on Hadoop solutions but snowflake is by far the best in performance and SQL compatibility
Kind of odd name
