Speeding ticket in Nevada?

Was driving 90 mph in 70 mph freeway. Got my first speeding ticket ever. I live in San Francisco. Is it worth contesting? How long are the demerit points going to be on my record for?

Never pay a ticket, ever. Contest, appeal, and if you need to hire a lawyer do it and make it disapear.

Why is that? Why shouldn’t I pay a ticket?

Contest in writing, if you lose to in person (you have greater than a 50% chance the cop won't even show up), or hire a lawyer. The cost of the ticket is not the fee it's the increased insurance cost and future problems with police. Never ever pay a ticket. If you don't normally speed you can also defer the ticket and as long as you don't get another one it will go away after 7 years. I speed constantly though so not for me.

    Stressed out but surviving
Most states in the us share records and you should check if NV shares records with CA. If not, you may just pay a fine but never have the points recorded. That said since they are bothering states I would bet otherwise.

Otherwise always contest if you can. Otherwise sure pay up and wait for your insurance to go up by 50 pct next time the bill comes around.

I would suggest you just google it. The points are based on the state you reside not where the offense occurred. CA is usually more points than Nevada.
