Splunk Phone Interview hearing back

I had my phone interview with Splunk on Monday. I thought I did pretty well but I get anxious easily and am getting stressed for not hearing back yet about the result. I know 4th of July was a holiday (possibly 5th too for some) but based on past phone screen experience, I usually heard back within 1-2 days. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to hear back after phone screen? I am especially worried because the recruiter does not seem to care much. He just sent an email asking for dates and proceeded to set up a date and time based without answering questions I also asked in my emails or giving any additional info. This is making me think they are not that interested to begin with.

What role? Which team?

Software. Why does role matter?

We had the 3rd off too. If you’re in the very beginning of a loop it could potentially be two weeks. Might get lucky but I wouldn’t place bets on it mattering.

Damn. Now I really want to join Splunk 😂 Honestly, this is one of my 2 top companies along with G. Your product is fantastic and there is still so much market to capture

Took me 3 weeks to hear back.

Splunk basically has the entire week off. Good work/life balance

My kind of company 🙌🏽 Really hope I can join Splunk

We have the 3rd and the 5th off at Splunk, and to be honest, most of the US takes off that Monday and Tuesday. He most certainly cares, but he also cares about his time off and vacation. Probably too much to reply to on a mobile phone. Sit tight and they will be sure to answer back. Good luck in the process!

Splunk’s overall recruitment efforts (especially in SWE) were basically stalled for 3 calendar quarters and then BAM the floodgates opened 2 or 3 months ago. I’m not “in the know” as to why, could be related to office real estate leases or to the expectations of Wall Street for delivering profits to shareholders instead of reinvesting. But what it means for recruiting is simple: they’re overwhelmed. Have patience and be persistent in communicating with your recruiter; take careful notes who you talk to and when followups are expected. The company is hiring as fast as it can right now.

Wow. Great insight. Thanks so much!

Any updates on hearing from the recruiter?

OP did you ever hear back from Splunk? I did a technical video screen a week before you did June 27th. I thought I did pretty well but still waiting to hear back... The recruiter emailed me on July 4th, telling me that the team is out until July 8th and I should be hearing back from someone as soon as they give feedback. Should I be worried? I getting really anxious..

It was for one of their test and automation teams I believe. Honestly I’m not quite sure, But it’s for a SWE role. Wbu? You haven’t had any contact with the recruiter since your technical phone screen? And where are you applying? SF Bay Area? Btw I DMed you
