If culture is so bad, shouldn't we do something about it? We can talk all we want but we could easily take action. Let's do something.
What don't you like about the culture? I think it's one of the best things at Amazon
Are you high?
High or 'bananas' not sure
Culture is set from top down. Your leader doesn’t give a shit about culture only customers so you’re always going to suffer a bit there.
"Give a shit" is highly subjective. Amazon definitely pays high performers well. To me, that shows they "give a shit". And if youre not a high performer, you aren't really in any position to demand changes.
@fQvt06, that's a dangerous line of reasoning: only high performers are allowed to call for change. So the larger swath of middle performers just have to shut up and take whatever the high performers want to push? That seems like a recipe for some clique formation and politics.
Get rid of several layers of management
OP: : what do u mean by bad culture ? Abrupt decisions ? Or Politics Or Constant churn Or Lack of focus ? Each problem has a different solution
Wow, do you work in my org too?
We can brainstorm it in the elevators. They have markers.
There's a union meeting in the Van Vorst courtyard on Wednesday at 11am.
Oh god..please no unions they are overrated. I don't need somebody negotiating for me.
When the union's inspiration through the workers' blood shall run, There can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun; Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one, But the union makes us strong.
The universal Morals and Principles need to be better adhered if an organization or civilization wants to reach apex prosperity, happiness and efficiency.
Workin on it. Launched the advocates network to represent our norms for diversity, inclusion, equity and integrity. Tasked with implementing in all offices globally and creating transparency w/leadership. Ya'll should do the same.
Most of the people who are annoyed enough to effect change within Amazon just find it easier to leave the company.
Form a union?
Not even funny
This is the right answer, but engineers are like libertarian cats. Good luck.
