Schedulednto chat with strip on monday. the line up says 1. Experience and Goals Interview 2. Scenarios Interview 3. Your Role @ Stripe any guidance on what to prepare for these? anyone from stripe open for a quick chat to help me with my prep thanks in advance.
Had my mini-onsite. I think it went well. There was 1 question in scenarios where I think I could have been More articulate, but felt good otherwise Any idea how soon they get back. Also would 1 hiccup be the death of me or they usually get you onsite for round 2
What kind of questions do they ask? Is it mostly behavioral in the 1st round?
Yes all behavior and “tell me about a time when...”..!!
Sounds like they want to know how much manager experience you have. How many years and how many people do you manage?
Total exp 18 yrs, Mgmt exp 8 yrs. team size from 10-40
Wow great experience. You’ll do well
Fingers crossed. But who knows sometimes one not perfect answer and your out. Hopefully that’s not the case
Any update?
How did it go? Did you do the final on-site?
Is there a coding round too for an EM position?
No leetcode ?

General advice for EM interviews of this sort: Think hard about the projects you worked on. What was hard about them? Who were the people involved? What went well and what didn’t? What did you learn. Do the same with non project challenges you faced as a manager: reorg, killing a project, letting someone go, hiring someone, etc. These won’t be the exact questions you’ll be asked but having those fresh in your mind will help you answer the questions you are asked. The initial onsite is mostly about making sure you have the right experiences and right motivations to bring you on for a full loop. If you make it through, you’ll have a prep call to help you prepare for the full loop.
