Was fortunate to receive offers for Stripe and Coinbase. Engineer with Masters and 6 years of experience. Both offers roughly 170-185k base and 600-750k in stock. Excited about both offers. Which company has more potential / upside in your collective opinion?
Why is coinbase still a good option if Robinhood allows you to do the same free of cost?
They have been working a lot longer on exchanges, storage, more coins, more markets
Stripe seems like a safer bet no? Engineering wise - they’re also a powerhouse. Shout out to jvns!
Congrats on your offer! Both are great options. Personally, I think Coinbase is more interesting to me. Cryptocurrencies and blockchain experience would be great experience to have. Payments experience is a little easier to obtain just cause there are more mature companies in that space. Ultimately, I would go with what you are more interested in.
Coinbase for sure. Payments infra is a painful and slow tiny margin business. Crypto is the Wild West and just getting started
Coinbase, then you can do some insider trading shit like they did with BCH and then make some $$ and then buy some cute crypto kitties 🐈😺
What are refreshers like at these two?
I wouldn’t consider making the jump from airbnb to either of those, but stripe would be the better of the two
Curious why you think Airbnb is better. I’m contemplating between Airbnb and stripe.
Stripe has a great culture: transparent, smart, founders are legit. Also engineers are king at stripe and have a lot of input into product roadmap (even more so that PMs)
More upside and higher risk at coinbase for sure. Congrats on the offers!
