Hey all! Need some objective advice. I'm currently a senior (C#) software engineer with a ton of JS experience. I ran my own consulting company for a decade that I closed down last year. What is a good role to leverage my self-employment experience, along with my coding background? I have no interest in running my own company again, but I'm more than happy to lead a team. I'm currently located in Austin, FWIW. I'd say my strengths are: Understanding customer requirements, interfacing with people that cover a broad technical spectrum, thinking outside the box to solve problems, and a comfort around a variety of technologies/languages. My weaknesses are: I'm so what behind the curve skill-wise when it comes to programming - most of my work centered around doing the same thing over and over, I'd also say my age, but that's not a weakness as much as it is a disadvantage. Any thoughts? Is there any more context I can provide that may help? Thanks!
What kind of customers? Companies like msft and Amazon (AWS) value enterprise experience a lot. But if it's just web development for small business then it's not much honestly.
It's been a combination of both, but predominantly smaller companies.
You have no weakness, you have skills that most people currently do not have and youve mastered the art of doing something. Just don't say you have a weakness
That's sound advice, I appreciate it.
