I am currently on STEM extension OPT and my current employer is going to file H1-B for me this April. My current employer is not performing well so I plan on changing my company. Suppose I change my company in May, will it be an issue? Can I just switch OPT and work for new employer? (It's okay if they cancel the H1-B)
if you are already on stem extension wait for H1B. you have about 30% chance of getting a visa.
No issues at all, but you will lose the H-1B even if you do win the lottery. OPT is very flexible in terms of job changes.
Definitely wait for H1B. Saying from personal experiences of a couple of friends. The number of applicants has been going up every year reducing the probability of getting picked in the cap. Every chance is precious. If H1B is not a concern, then sure go for the job you like.
Yes. I would strongly suggest you wait for your h1b. Those things are hard to come by.
