I have an on-site coming at Placed. It's a Snap subsidiary. Can you tell me what kinda TC I should expect for 9 years of SDE experience? Is it same as Snap? Do you get Snap stock or Placed one? Current TC: $158K in Florida
You can expect TC based on location
Will it be similar to Snap TC?
Placed is one of the worst aquisitions we have ever made at Snap. Their team is toxic and the CEO complains (and throws others under the bus) to our CSO all the time until he gets his way. I would stay far away from Placed.
Would you count Placed a separate company than Snap in terms of operations and pay? Also, is it possible to move to core Snap few months after being hired at Placed? As an SDE, maybe I can use Placed as a way to get into Snap. Thoughts?
Snap has a subsidiary?
They describe it as subsidiary. I'm also trying to understand if Placed is run independently or is it part of Snap?
Yes, they have multiple subsidiaries. Most are fully integrated. Placed runs sandboxed, they keep their work to themselves and run autonomously due to the fact that Snap doesn't want that privacy headache. Can't tell you about comp. *Source: Ex Snap*
