It all varies depending on the team. If you’re close to production, pressure is high. Outside of this there are a lot of variation, but in general people are working a lot. This is not really that there are explicit pressure to work long hours but many are very committed , and I think that when you are joining a team you’re more likely to pick up the same rythme.
In terms of compensation, it depends on the role / the team and how much they want you after the on-site, but they will in general align on other offers you may have (from google/fb/Apple/Amazon/...)
Talk to the manager and get a really good idea of the work you will be doing. Since the work can get quite intense, its extremely important you are super excited about it, or you will burn out. Pay shouldn't be an issue since you are moving there from another job. If you realize post interview, that you aced it, feel free to go a bit hard on negotiation. New grads have to fight a bit with competitive offers.
I'm just looking for new jobs in general and Tesla reached out. I was just wondering if it was worth it. This is the auto pilot software team if that matters
For just a software engineer it might not be the most exciting place to work but for someone who’s into physical systems, especially automotive systems, it’s probably the best place.

Moving from places like FB or Google seems to be a large change for people. Most don't last very long (a year or two).
Wlb depends on the team.
