Is it ok to directly send a thank you note to the hiring manager after an interview, if it's a contract job through a staffing agency?
If you have their direct contact information - yes. If you don’t, ask the staffing agency to forward the note.
I do from the calendar invite... The in person meeting that I wanted to thank for being invited to, is on Monday, so not sure if the staffing agency will move fast enough or forward even. I'm wondering if it's appropriate in the hiring manager eyes, but I was advised it is! Wanted to gather opinions here.
Go for it! It’s just a thank you note. Keep it short, but try to mention something non-generic from the interview. HOWEVER, if the meeting is on Monday, a note should be sent after and not before.
You should ask the staffing agency, but frankly I don't like these. Thank me in person when you are speaking to me. A thank you note does nothing except make me feel like you're stalking me.
My note would say that it was very nice to meet during the video call and thank you for the invitation to the interview in person. It's more like a thank you note for moving further.
