Tipping on Uber

I have a personal card and a corporate card on my Uber account. I paid for a personal trip on my personal card. Later on I leave a tip. The tip went on the corporate card (??) even though the fare was on the personal card and I never selected the corporate card. I submitted a support request, and they say they can change which card the fare goes to, but not the tip. Come on, Uber. -_- [/venting]

This happened to me and the whole thing went on my corporate card. I just did the expense report and marked it personal, added a comment and paid the company back

You should get your company to use Coupa. You won't hate expense reports again.

Lyft is the same. Once you use a card to make a payment, you cannot change it.

Surge pricing ... fuck that shit

    • That's a functional marketplace. Surge is when supply can't meet demand.

    • Cancel your account? Lol wtf

    • Yeah no that's a completely different thing. In your article, it was the credit card company who reversed the charge, not Uber refunding them and then cancelling their account, which sounded weird.

We don't know if that user's account was cancelled for some other reason or if their claims were true. Maybe that user has a history of disputes and looks suspicious? We don't have all the facts to say whether Uber is doing the wrong thing or not.

It's also funny how sometimes people say Uber sides with the passenger and sometimes they say Uber sides with the driver. Whichever one makes Uber sound worse for the situation, I guess.

Just saying, disputing a transaction where the credit card company sides with the consumer may result in an account cancellation from Uber.

    • As I was saying, we don't know if that's the reason her account was cancelled, even if the story wasn't entirely made up.
