Out of the blue, I got really curious about what set of tires to install and started researching about them yesterday and guess what, one of my tires got flat today. Haha.. Now, I would have to replace all of them. Has any body of you replaced tires at costco or bought them on tirerack and got it installed locally? BMW'S RFTS (Run Flat Tires) sucks. I'm planning to get non RFTs from either of the two retailers. How's the service at costco? Has anyone replaced their RFTs with non RFTs? How's the ride feel? I'm looking at Michelin Pilot sport A/S 3+. Thanks!
Always replace with OEM regardless of where they’re purchased. The suspension is tuned based on OEM tires.
Purchased from both tire rake and Costco. Costco comes with lifetime rotation/balance as well as free road hazard insurance. Better deal
Yes, I am tempted by the road hazard insurance. Tirerack has only 2 years vs 5 years from Costco. Have you had any experience with it before? Is it easy to claim the insurance as costco states?
Incredibly easy. Recently had a nail too close to the tire wall which made it impossible to repair. They simply measured the remaining tread and calculated how much tire I used. They literally handed me $350 on the spot. I handed the money back and ordered my new tire.
Stepping in here and feel like an idiot now. I replaced my runflats at the dealer. I don’t need to keep using the blasted runflats and you guys are buying regular tires from Costco? My old Jeep had tires from Costco and they were awesome!
First rule is never buy your tires from the dealer. How much did RFTs cost you? Regular ones are actually awesome. They offer better performance and ride quality than RFTs IMO
You can still buy run flats at costco, the Bridgestone ones are like 180$ each. Works fine for me
I got the Michelin super sport on my z4 and it drove so much better. No spinning wheels when I hit the gas. Just remember to buy a plug kit.
Wow! Super sport is amazing. Yes, I will get a plug kit. Thanks!
OP. I can sense the excitement of getting the new wheels!! Summer’s coming. Enjoy the drive.
Pss no brainer
I replaced the run flats on a BMW with non run flats as soon as possible. They ride like shit, problem solved. Dealer tells me every time the tires should be run flat which confirms that dealers are stealers.
Well, I prefer RFT though. Cornering is much more responsive when having RFT.
Run flat , OEM recommended , and costco doesnt have them. Get a good installer with good alignment and balance machine, otherwise you will driving corolla
I replaced run flats with run flats on my bunker, from Costco. Avoid Continentals at any cost.
Conti's suck. Currently, I have them on and the tire roll is terrible. Which one did you get?
